Beginner or expert?  Curious and confident or trepidatious and terrified?  Don't worry, we've got the learning experience you need for the level you're at.  Try a sit-down class, a drop-in social, or a hands-on workshop and find your own personal tech heaven!


Appy Hour

Curious about technology?  Want to have cool things to talk about at parties?  Join us every Wednesday afternoon from 12:30–1:30pm to learn one new nifty thing about your computer or device.  It may be a Windows 8 timesaving tip, a cool new app for your phone, or how to use Microsoft Excel to make a work of art.  Meet other people who love to learn and share your best tips and tricks! 

This technology social club is a free drop-in program for adults.

Digital Media Lab

The Digital Media Lab, located at our ideaLAB, is free to use for anyone with a valid Innisfil Public Library card. Interested individuals are invited to bring a creative idea or project with them and work on it independently or with help from a librarian.  Book through our Check Out A Skill service (see above) by visiting your local branch or contacting (705) 431-7410.


Computer Classes

If you prefer an intimate small-group setting, our classes may be the learning tool for you.  Each course lasts apx. 1-2 hours and encourages you to learn at your own pace.  Classes are free but registration is required.

Create a basic spreadsheet, copy and replicate data, learn how to use formulas to save time and effort, and format your spreadsheet.

This course is best for: People who are very comfortable with the keyboard and mouse.

For absolute beginners!  Learn the parts of the computer, learn to use a mouse with Mousercise, explore the Desktop, open and close a program, use the File menu, learn about your computer’s drives, start, restart and shut down a computer, and learn simple troubleshooting. 

This course is best for: People who have never used a computer before, or people who have a hard time clicking and doubleclicking with a mouse.

Learning Express Online Computer Courses


If you do well with self-directed learning, you might enjoy Learning Express online courses.  Learn Word, Excel, Outlook, Photoshop and more at your own pace, from the comfort of your own home!  You will need a valid library card to access Learning Express, and it works best if you use your library card number as your username.  Anyone who lives or works in Innisfil is entitled to a free library card; visit your nearest branch for assistance.
