National Breastfeeding Week

Celebrate National Breast Feeding Week October 1st - 7th at Innisfil ideaLAB & Library, Lakeshore Branch.









On Saturday September 30th, join us for a drop-in storytime at 10:30am. Immediately following storytime, moms are invited to simultaneously “Latch On” as part of the Quintessence Breastfeeding Challenge. In partnership with Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit and Ontario Early Years, this fun event is a challenge to see what geographic area has the most breastfeeding babies, “latched on” at 11am local time. The purpose of this challenge is to bring awareness to breastfeeding, milk-banking, and demonstrate promotion, protection and support for breastfeeding women and their families. Registration for the event begins at 10am on Saturday September 30th. 













On Friday, October 6th, 7pm join us for a free viewing of the multi awarding winning documentary, MILK by Noemi Weis.
About the film - Through an intimate and artistic lens, Milk brings a universal perspective on the politics, commercialization and controversies surrounding birth and infant feeding over the canvas of stunningly beautiful visuals and poignant voices from around the globe. Inspiring, informative, provocative and sensitive, Milk celebrates bringing a new life into this world with a strong call to action and reflection.
