Laptops

Laptops are available to borrow from the Lakeshore, Stroud and Cookstown Branches.  Laptops are for in-library use only and are available on a first-come-first-served basis.

Who can borrow a laptop?
Anyone with a valid Innisfil Public Library card can borrow a laptop.  People who live or work in Innisfil are entitled to receive a library card.  Children who request laptops must have permission from their parent or guardian recorded in their patron record.  Our membership registration form for children includes information on equipment loans.

What is the loan period?
The loan period is one hour.  All laptops must be returned 15 minutes before closing time.

Who is responsible for theft, damage or loss of a laptop?
The person who signs out the laptop is responsible for any damage.  Parents should be aware that replacement costs for this equipment could exceed $300.  Parents are responsible for any damage/lost incurred by their children.  Please inform staff if you wish to restrict use of such materials by your child.

Where may I return a laptop?
You must return laptops to the circulation desk; when all parts are accounted for, staff will return your library card.

Is there a fine for returning the laptop late?
Yes, there is a fine of $1 per hour.

Can personal documents and software be saved on a laptop?
You should not save any personal documents or software to a public computer. 

Can I get internet access on a laptop?
Yes, you will be able to access the library's wireless network.

Can I print from a laptop?
You cannot print from a laptop.  You may email or save documents to a thumb drive, disk or Google Docs and print from one of our desktop public computers.
