Innisfil Seed Library Workshops

The Innisfil Seed Library is located at the Innisfil ideaLAB & Library, Lakeshore Branch, and is free and open to everyone. Visitors can browse the selection of vegetable, herb and flower seeds, sign some out in our binder and grow them at home to enjoy. It's that easy! At the end of the growing season, we ask that seed borrowers return some seed to help replenish the stock. Throughout the growing season, the library will offer workshops and presentations including proper methods for saving and returning viable seed. Resources for gardening and seed saving will also be made available.

Edible Plant Walk & Talk Series

First in a 3-part series of edible plant walk-and-talks in spring, summer and fall! This is part of an ongoing series of workshops in conjunction with the Innisfil Seed Library.

Master Naturalist Karen Stephenson of Edible Wild Food presents an offsite edible plant walk-and-talk along the new Innisfil Rotary Trail! Many people spend countless dollars taking a chance on store-bought spring detox cleanses – and it sure does not make “cents” when you can do this for free. Come on out and learn what edible wild plants are in our area that truly are the best way to detox a sluggish body and rejuvenate your liver! Detox products purchased in a store can be very “iffy” because we do not know where or how the plants they use are harvested. More importantly, using plants that grow in your geographical area are best for you – not something from hundreds of kilometres away. Enjoy some fresh air and learn not only how to detox; but how to incorporate edible wild plants into your daily diet!

Offsite - Innisfil Rotary Trail, behind Innisfil Recreational Complex, 7315 Yonge St. in south parking lot: Sunday April 30,  12:30pm - 2:30pm

Adults  $10 per personchildren under 16 are free.
