CREATIVE TECHNOLOGIST –Summer Assistants
(30 hours per week)

The Creative Technologist – Summer Assistant position represents the Library as front line customer service staff, by integrating literacy and technologies into Library Service and programmes for all ages throughout the summer.
Develop a wide range of programming for all ages at all Innisfil Public Library Branches with a ‘maker focus’, using relevant technology and digital media resources. Deliver training workshops to a wide variety of ages and audiences, including seniors. Assist with the design and implementation of interactive exhibits in co-ordination with other summer activities. Co-ordinate branch activities with the timing of special events and outreach opportunities. Participate in special projects. Assist with sponsorship acquisition for summer programmes. Collaborate with the Marketing Committee. Organize and prepare storytime resources.
Ø Enrolled in university or community college full-time in 2013-2014 and intending to return in September full-time for 2014-2015 (grant requirement);
Ø Between the ages of 18 and 30 (grant requirement);
Ø Must be available to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, at all branches of the library system;
Ø Excellent communication skills;
Ø Excellent computer, social media, multimedia production and electronic information resource skills;
Ø Working knowledge of ‘PhotoShop’, ‘GarageBand’, ‘Logic’, ‘iMovie’, ‘Final Cut Pro’ and ‘Max6’.
Ø Ability to work as part of a team;
Ø Valid driver’s licence and reliable transportation;
Ø Police records check is required.
Fourteen-week position starting May 13th, 2014, with a 30-hour work week.
