Class Visits

Bring Your Class to the Library for a Visit!

Innisfil Public library offers class visits to meet the special needs of your class, including library membership for every student. Choose from a prearranged tour or contact the library to customize a visit. Please contact one of our children’s librarians for further information or to book your visit.

Primary Division (K-3)

Library Orientation - A fun, interactive introduction to the library including program information and a tour (all grades).

Storytime - Enjoy an age-appropriate story read aloud by a professional children’s programmer and a general orientation of the library, highlighting the children’s area
(JK-grade 3).

Booktalks -  Get your class excited about reading. Age-appropriate, popular books are highlighted to excite advanced readers and encourage reluctant readers. These visits can be adjusted for subject, or project specific material selections (Grades 3-8).

Book Exchange -  Give your class time to browse, read and borrow books from the library. Class-specific displays may be requested in advance (All grades).

 

Junior Grades (4-6)

Library Orientation - A fun, interactive introduction to the library including program information and a tour (all grades).

Booktalks -  Get your class excited about reading. Age-appropriate, popular books are highlighted to excite advanced readers and encourage reluctant readers. These visits can be adjusted for subject, or project specific material selections (Grades 3-8).

Research Skills -  An informative, interactive visit that can be tailored to fit your class’s current unit of study. Students learn how to access the library catalogue and online resources (encyclopedias & periodicals) from any internet connection (best for Grades 4-8).

Intermediate (7/8)
