Our featured artist at Stroud Branch is Keith Steele.

Our featured artist at Cookstown Branch is John Schmelefske. John has always had an interest in drawing and painting as a hobby.  His line drawings of owls and woodpeckers were used for illustrations in the first Atlas of the Breeding Birds of Ontario and he recently participated actively in the fieldwork for the new updated version of the Atlas. He has also had pictures published in journals. John's art work exemplifies his ongoing interest in the natural world; he has travelled extensively to Australia, Bolivia, Ecuador, Belize and Costa Rica pursuing his interest in flora and fauna of the world.  He is an active member in the Ontario Field Ornithology Club and makes a yearly trip to Point Pelee National Park to take in the spring migration.   His preferred medium is transparent watercolour.
